Our community has been through a lot over the last few months and while many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to our patients. The team at Santa Rosa Dental has been busy prepping the practice to resume for essential dental care. Dental and oral health is a vital part of your overall health and well-being and we want to provide our patients the best care in a secure and comfortable environment.  We would like to share with you our updated changes and what you can do to make future visits to our practice as safe as possible.

What’s new:

Sterilization and infection control have always been a top priority for our practice. More than ever we are following all current CDPH, ADA, CDC and OSHA recommendations and guidance’s to keep you and your family safe and healthy. Our team is now available to reschedule appointments cancelled throughout the closure from COVID-19. You may have received a call, text or email. We are dedicated to accommodating patients with more critical needs first and scheduling less urgent appointments as the schedule allows. We have been making modifications in our daily operations where needed. These protocols reinforce our existing universal precautions and stay up to date with the current health threat. Please be patient with us as the pandemic is ever changing. Starting May 26th, we will resume seeing our regular patients for dental care at a reduced schedule in order to keep patients and team members safe.

What you can do to help:

With all of us becoming accustom to the “social distance” way of life. Here are some new systems we ask you to follow to reduce the risk for everyone:

We ask that only one guardian/caregiver accompany you for your visit if absolutely necessary. We have rearranged our waiting area. We ask that if possible you wait in your car until your treatment room is available to reduce any unnecessary contact. Below are a few changes that you can expect.

  1. Masks/facial coverings are required upon entering the office until instructed by staff to remove.

  2. We will be asking a series of COVID-19 screening questions at time of scheduling in addition to day of service.

  3. New PPE (personal protective equipment) even at the reception area. For example, you will see Plexiglass at check in area, in addition to our staff having new attire.

  4. Make sure that you arrive on time for your reserved appointment, and call us from the parking lot when you arrive.

  5. Contactless payment is preferred, we have added online payments on our website in addition you are always welcome to make payments over the phone with our friendly staff. We will still take cash or check if necessary.

  6. Upon entering the office a staff member will take your temperature with a contactless reader then provide you with hand sanitizer prior to heading to your treatment room.

  7. Limit personal items brought into the practice.

We look forward to seeing our wonderful patients again soon. Santa Rosa Dental will continue to place the health and safety of our team and our patients first. We appreciate your understanding during these uncertain times. For more information, please visit our website or follow us on Facebook.

Stay Healthy,

Dr. Michael Rice and Team

Air Purifier with HEPA Filter

HEPA Air Filters for a Dentist Office
Dental air purifiers need to capture drill aerosols, abrasion powder, vapors and other contaminants, including mercury. This requires advanced filtration that can purify air down to a very small size. High-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) is a mechanical air filter. Air is forced through a filter, trapping harmful particles. HEPA is a great option for filtering particles as small as 0.3 microns. Most HEPA filters have a permissible leakage standard of 1 or 3 out of every 10,000 particles.
